The Facilities Operative position in Oxfordshire involves hands-on maintenance and site upkeep for a permanent role with a salary up to £30,000 per annum. You will perform general repairs, support planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and address reactive issues promptly. Monitoring equipment for safe operation, assisting with safety checks and hazard reporting, managing waste, and ensuring cleanliness are key duties. You may also coordinate with contractors as required. This role demands reliability, practical skills, and a commitment to maintaining a secure, well-organised environment.
The working pattern is standard full-time hours (Monday to Friday, 07:00-15:00) with a focus on proactive and responsive facility management.
What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out general maintenance tasks, including basic repairs and equipment upkeep
- Supporting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities
- Responding to reactive maintenance issues promptly
- Monitoring site services and equipment for safe operation
- Assisting with safety checks, hazard identification and reporting
- Supporting waste management and site cleanliness
- Assisting contractors when needed
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good condition
- Acting as a keyholder and conducting daily site checks and shutdowns
- Participating in out-of-hours response team duties
- Supporting additional tasks as directed by Senior Management
What you’ll bring:
- Practical experience in a maintenance or hands-on environment
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically capable of manual tasks such as lifting and bending
- Full clean driving licence
- Competence with electrics (advantageous but not essential)
- Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)
