About the Role

Ophthalmology Account Manager (OAM) position based in London. This field-based, permanent role involves managing and expanding sales of ophthalmic diagnostic, surgical, and digital products across London and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with NHS and private healthcare providers, identify new business, and deliver integrated clinical solutions. Key skills include commercial acumen and medical device sales experience. Salary is negotiable. This role reports to the Regional Sales Manager and requires a professional who can drive growth while improving patient outcomes through innovative technology.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and implement strategic territory and account plans to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Promote the full ophthalmic diagnostic, surgical and digital product portfolio across hospitals, clinics and theatres.
  • Identify, qualify and convert new business opportunities while growing existing customer accounts.
  • Deliver engaging product demonstrations and evaluations in partnership with Clinical Application Specialists.
  • Prepare and present commercial proposals, quotations, tenders and business presentations.
  • Build trusted relationships with ophthalmologists, surgeons, procurement teams, biomedical engineers and other key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate installations, product implementation and customer training alongside specialist teams.
  • Maintain accurate customer information, sales opportunities and forecasts using Salesforce CRM.
  • Forecast capital equipment and consumable sales to support business planning.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Service and Operations teams to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
  • Represent the organisation professionally at exhibitions, workshops and customer events.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer feedback to identify future opportunities.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven sales experience within medical devices, healthcare or life sciences.
  • Successful track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical and clinical information to both clinical and non‑clinical audiences.
  • Strong commercial awareness and account management skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and forecasting skills.
  • A proactive, resilient and customer‑focused approach.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Experience in ophthalmology or related specialty products.
