The Senior Structural Engineer will join a multidisciplinary consultancy in Northampton, delivering technically challenging projects across several sectors. This full-time role involves working within a collaborative team, managing structural designs from conception through to completion. Candidates should possess significant experience in structural engineering, with proficiency in relevant design software and a solid understanding of UK building regulations. The position offers a competitive salary, dependent on experience, and requires a professional approach to project delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing detailed calculations
- Overseeing drawings
- Liaising with clients and architects to ensure project success
- Delivering structural engineering design across a range of projects and sectors
- Carrying out structural analysis and complex calculations for steel and concrete structures
- Designing foundations, retaining walls, support frames, platforms, pipe racks and associated infrastructure
- Producing structural calculations, technical reports and engineering documentation
- Developing analytical models using industry-standard structural engineering software
- Reviewing drawings, contractor proposals and specialist supplier information
- Coordinating with clients, contractors, architects, geotechnical engineers and multidisciplinary project teams
- Undertaking site inspections and surveys, as well as attending client and design meetings
- Supporting project delivery, programme management and technical compliance
- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the continued technical development of the team
- Ensuring designs are delivered in accordance with Eurocodes, British Standards and project requirements
