Job Overview
The Student Safety Team Member role in Durham involves working full‑time overnight shifts from 10pm to 7am, five days per week, on a contract that extends until 30 September 2026, with the possibility of renewal.
Pay and hours: £16.66 per hour, 37.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a positive brand ambassador and create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for students.
- Maintain consistent, high‑quality service throughout the night.
- Respond to emergencies and vulnerable situations, including noise complaints, lock‑outs, fire alarms, flooding, and system failures.
- Work with security to protect residents and the property.
- Keep shared and communal areas clean and tidy.
- Support other accommodation sites during major incidents when required.
- Build relationships with students and signpost them to appropriate support services.
- Respond to individual student needs and elevate welfare concerns when necessary.
- Act on student feedback and resolve or escalated issues promptly.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Complete required safety checks and respond appropriately to emergencies.
- Maintain a clean, well‑maintained environment.

- Previous experience in a similar role required.
