Job Responsibilities
- Operate Class 1 (C+E) vehicles to transport goods across various locations in the UK.
- Ensure timely and safe delivery of goods, adhering to scheduled routes and deadlines.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle logs in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including tachograph and driving hours legislation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with clients and colleagues.
Required Skills andamp; Qualifications
- Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Digital Tachograph card and up-to-date CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
- Previous experience driving Class 1 vehicles, ideally within a logistics or freight environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK road networks and transportation regulations.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and compliance.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and report any issues promptly.
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends if required.
