School Catering Assistants – Temp – Newbury
We are recruiting temporary catering assistants to join busy school catering teams across Newbury and nearby areas. The role involves supporting meal service in primary, secondary, and academy settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with food preparation.
- Serving meals to students and staff.
- Maintaining high levels of kitchen hygiene.
- Cleaning and clearing kitchen and dining areas.
- Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods.
Requirements
- Previous catering or hospitality experience (preferred but not essential).
- Experience in school or contract catering (desirable).
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Professional, reliable, and organized approach.
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude.
- Proof of right to work in the UK.
- Passport, birth certificate or national ID.
- Proof of address.
- National Insurance number.
- Bank details.
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level2 preferred but not essential).
- Valid Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
