Sheridan Maine London is recruiting for a law firm in Newbury seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join their Finance team on a full-time, permanent basis, with a salary ranging from £28,000 to £35,000 per annum. You will work standard office hours in Newbury, contributing to a supportive finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing client and office account transactions.
- Managing payments, receipts and transfers.
- Completing daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Processing CHAPS, BACS and other electronic payments.
- Handling client account queries and resolving discrepancies.
- Assisting with month end procedures and financial reporting.
- Maintaining accurate financial records.
- Ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and internal policies.
- Liaising with fee earners, clients, banks and other third parties.
- Supporting the wider Finance team with ad hoc duties.
Required Attributes
- Good knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical skills.
- Experience with client and office accounts.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and problem solving skills.
- A professional and confidential approach to handling financial information.
