About The Role

Onward is seeking a Property Clearance Operative to join their Manchester team on a full‑time, permanent basis. The role involves clearing and preparing vacant properties for new occupants, ensuring all items are safely removed, premises are left clean and secure, and waste is properly disposed of. You will handle relevant paperwork, operate company vehicles and work 37 hours per week. Key skills include physical fitness, attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Salary is £26,250 per annum (£13.64 per hour).

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out clearance and cleaning work of properties vacated by tenants before repair or refurbishment.
  • Remove furniture and personal possessions for storage or disposal, load onto vehicles or skips and ensure thorough cleaning before re‑occupation.
  • Undertake horticultural practices to restore gardens and open spaces associated with void properties.
  • Use cleaning chemicals in compliance with COSHH regulations and operate hand‑held battery tools.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain work to a high standard.
  • Complete jobs on PDAs and maintain other required records.
  • Follow all health and safety requirements, demonstrating knowledge of legislation (HASAWA 1974) and safe working practices.
  • Operate light machinery, plant and powered hand tools safely, and maintain allocated company vehicles.

Qualifications&Experience

  • Essential:
    • Full UK driving licence
    • CSCS card
    • Knowledge of health and safety regulations (HASAWA 1974, COSHH & PPE)
    • Experience in a target‑driven environment
    • DIY task capability
    • Team‑player
    • Literacy and numeracy skills
  • Desirable:
    • Experience in commercial and domestic property maintenance
    • Experience delivering services within the social housing sector
    • Asbestos awareness training
    • Power‑tool and manual‑handling training
    • Access equipment and working‑at‑height training (mobile work platforms)
