permanent, full‑time Maintenance Engineer

Salary

£32,000 – £40,000 per annum depending on experience.

  • What you'll be doing
  • Respond quickly to machinery breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs on plant and production equipment.
  • Complete planned preventive maintenance (PPM) to agreed schedules.
  • Identify root causes of recurring faults and recommend continuous improvement solutions.
  • Perform routine inspections and safety checks across site equipment.
  • Support the installation and maintenance of manufacturing machinery.
  • Supervise contractors and ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures.
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Support and mentor colleagues where required.

What we're looking for

  • A recognised engineering qualification such as an Apprenticeship, BTEC, City & Guilds, or NVQ Level 3.
  • Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
  • A proactive approach with excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with crane systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
