permanent, full‑time Maintenance Engineer

£32,000 – £40,000 per annum depending on experience.
- What you'll be doing
- Respond quickly to machinery breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
- Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs on plant and production equipment.
- Complete planned preventive maintenance (PPM) to agreed schedules.
- Identify root causes of recurring faults and recommend continuous improvement solutions.
- Perform routine inspections and safety checks across site equipment.
- Support the installation and maintenance of manufacturing machinery.
- Supervise contractors and ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures.
- Work closely with production teams to ensure equipment reliability.
- Support and mentor colleagues where required.
What we're looking for
- A recognised engineering qualification such as an Apprenticeship, BTEC, City & Guilds, or NVQ Level 3.
- Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic systems.
- A proactive approach with excellent problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with crane systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
