Role
As a School Chef Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a school kitchen, ensuring meals are prepared and served to the highest standards while maintaining full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Managing the daily operation of a busy school kitchen.
- Leading, supervising and motivating the catering team.
- Preparing and serving fresh, nutritious meals.
- Managing stock, ordering and kitchen budgets.
- Ensuring compliance with Food Safety, HACCP and allergen procedures.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food presentation.
- Liaising with school staff to ensure an excellent catering service.
- What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Chef Manager within a school or education catering environment.
- Food Safety Level 2 Certificate (Level 3 is advantageous).
- Food Allergen Awareness Certificate.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- A reliable and professional approach.
- Own transport is desirable due to travel between school sites.
