Join a world-renowned aerospace and defence organisation as an Indirect Procurement Category Lead - IT Services and IT Software in Preston onsite hybrid days per week. Due to a drive for greater success, this advanced manufacturing business is currently searching for an Indirect Category Lead to add to their talented, hardworking team in Preston on a 12 month contract. Striving for innovation and creativity you can ensure no two days will be the same.

The Role

  • Indirect Procurement Category Lead - IT Services
  • Preston Hybrid working 1-2 days onsite (not set days, could potentially need to travel for site meetings)
  • 12 months
  • 37 hours per week
  • £47.12 UMB per hour inside IR35
  • Security Clearance is required

The role:

  • Undertaking proactive supplier management of key IT Service/Software Providers including supplier relationship management, contract change, escalations, risk management and leading Governance forums.
  • Promptly addressing any escalations from internal business stakeholders within the IT community.
  • Supporting a large scale programme which will transform the way IT is currently procured within BAE Systems. This will involve transition activity from incumbent suppliers to new providers and will require excellent stakeholder management and engagement.

Experience:

  • Commercial and contractual acumen, experience of managing large suppliers with significant spend.
  • Pro-active and self-motivated working with limited supervision.
  • Strong communicator, able to effectively influence and build relationships with challenging stakeholders.
  • Able to adapt to and embrace change.

Desirable:

  • Proven experience in Indirect Procurement, specifically within the IT and Technology categories.
  • Professional or academic qualification in IT MCIPS or studying towards.
