Site Manager - Ground-Mount Solar
Location: West Kent
Salary: £60,000-£65,000
Employment: Permanent
An opportunity is available for an experienced Site Manager to join a major utility-scale Solar PV construction project in West Kent.
We are looking for someone with strong practical site leadership experience who can manage subcontractors, maintain construction standards and drive safe delivery against the project programme.
The role will include:
- Leading day-to-day construction activities
- Managing subcontractors and site supervisors
- Coordinating labour, materials and site resources
- Monitoring programme and construction progress
- Maintaining HSE and quality standards
- Reviewing work against drawings and specifications
- Managing site inspections, defects and corrective works
- Producing accurate site and progress reporting
- Supporting commissioning and project handover
- Working closely with the wider project management team
Essential experience:
- Demonstrable utility-scale ground-mounted Solar PV experience
- Previous Site Manager experience within solar, renewables or major infrastructure
- Strong construction and subcontractor management capability
- Civil, Electrical or Mechanical construction/engineering background
- UK driving licence
Qualifications / certifications:
- SMSTS
- Black CSCS or Black ECS Card3-day First Aid certification
- NVQ Level 6+ in Construction Management or relevant engineering discipline preferred
- Strong candidates actively progressing towards NVQ Level 6 / Black Card may also be considered.
- TWC / Temporary Works Coordinator experience would be advantageous.
- Candidates with civil construction experience across earthworks, roads, drainage, foundations or structures are particularly of interest.
The position is permanent, so flexibility to support future UK projects will be required
