Job Summary
Onward is hiring a Joiner to join their team in Accrington on a full‑time, permanent contract. The role offers a salary of £35,300 per annum (£18.10 hourly), 32 days annual leave plus bank holidays (40 days paid leave), a pension scheme with matched contributions up to 10%, and a range of benefits including a cash plan covering dental and optical care, and access to salary‑finance options.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver property maintenance services in line with group standards and key performance indicators, ensuring high standards at all times.
- Assess, coordinate and undertake the most cost‑effective repair solutions, delivering value for money.
- Organise materials, maintain adequate stock for operatives, and manage van‑based inventory.
- Communicate effectively with customers, stakeholders and colleagues to ensure high‑quality service delivery.
- Provide excellent customer service and technical advice, liaising with clients regarding access, safe working practices and repair progress.
- Maintain accurate records on PDA, including job progression, materials used and access details.
- Work in accordance with all health and safety requirements, demonstrating a sound knowledge of relevant legislation and safe working procedures.
- Operate light machinery, plant and powered hand tools safely, and perform daily maintenance of allocated company vehicles.
Skills & Experience
- Sound knowledge of building construction, components, building trades and applicable building regulations.
- Experience of working in a customer‑focused, target‑driven environment.
- Proven ability to deliver a quality, customer‑centred repairs service.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience of using PDA technology (hand‑held/mobile) is desirable.
Qualifications
- Essential: Minimum of L2 NVQ or equivalent qualification in Joinery and relevant experience, appropriate CSCS card.
- Desirable: Hold health & safety qualifications related to the sector (e.g., asbestos awareness, COSHH & PPE, manual handling, mobile work platform).

Working Hours & Extra Pay
