Janitor

Pertemps Edinburgh Contracts seeks a Janitor for a temporary position in Leith, EH6 6DE, offering £14.51 per hour.

This role spans full-time (36 hours) or part-time (18 hours) weekly, Monday to Friday, with an immediate start and a two-month duration, potentially extended.

The Janitor maintains multi-storey blocks and communal grounds, ensuring they are clean, secure, and welcoming.

Responsibilities include conducting regular patrols, monitoring CCTV and door entry systems, addressing tenant queries, handling administrative duties like issuing fobs, and performing general cleaning.

The position blends office tasks with hands‑on estate management, requiring strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

As a Janitor, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that multi-storey blocks and surrounding areas are clean, secure, and welcoming for residents. This is a varied role combining both office-based duties and hands‑on estate management.

The Janitor will be:

• Carrying out regular patrols to ensure buildings and estates are safe and well maintained.
• Monitoring CCTV, door entry, and IT systems to support security and resident access.
• Acting as a first point of contact for tenant queries and resolving or escalating issues.
• Managing administrative tasks such as issuing fobs and maintaining records.
• Cleaning and maintaining communal areas including lifts, foyers, and litter chutes.
• Conducting litter picks and ensuring outdoor areas remain tidy and presentable.
• Supporting emergency cover where required at short notice.
