Overview
The Support Worker, Veterans - Complex Needs role is based in Honiton and involves managing a caseload of 5–8 customers across Honiton and Exeter.
This full-time, temporary assignment runs until October 2026 and offers £15.34 per hour for 30 hours per week, Monday–Friday with one Saturday every six weeks.
You will deliver person-centred support to veterans and individuals facing or at risk of homelessness.
Responsibilities
- Manage a small caseload of 5–8 customers across Honiton and Exeter, providing high-quality, person-centred support.
- Develop, review and update support plans and risk assessments.
- Support people with complex needs, including mental health, substance misuse and housing-related issues.
- Work closely with external agencies, landlords, healthcare professionals and support services.
- Promote independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes for every individual you support.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding and risk management processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults or people with complex needs.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
- Confidence managing challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
- Knowledge of housing-related support and safeguarding practices (desirable).
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject (desirable).
- Enhanced DBS required.
