Support Worker – Veterans & Complex Needs (Honiton & Exeter)

Full‑time contract, paying £15.34 per hour, until October 2026.

Responsible for a caseload of 5–8 customers, delivering person‑centred support to promote independence across the Honiton and Exeter areas.

Responsibilities

  • Provide person‑centred, solution‑focused support to individuals with complex needs.
  • Develop, review and update support plans and risk assessments.
  • Work closely with external agencies, including mental health services, substance misuse teams, benefits services, landlords and education providers.
  • Support customers to access housing, employment, training and other community services.
  • Promote independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes for every individual.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding best practice.

About You

  • Passionate about supporting vulnerable people.
  • Experience supporting individuals with a range of complex or vulnerable needs.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and confidence to make informed decisions.
  • Experience writing records, support plans or action plans.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and risk management.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Desirable: Experience within housing support or homelessness services.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of benefits, employment or education support.
  • Desirable: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
  • Desirable: Previous experience working with vulnerable adults.
  • Desirable: Safeguarding qualifications.
  • Working Hours

30 hours per week (Monday to Friday, plus one Saturday in every six).
