Location: High Wycombe, travelling to various project locations HOURS: 08:00-17:00 Monday – Thursday & 07:00 – 16:00 Fridays We are seeking an experienced Steel Erector who can not only deliver high quality on site installation work but also take responsibility for managing day to day activities on site.
This 6 month fixed term role is to provide cover while a permanent team member is recovering from illness but could be extended.
Key Responsibilities
- Erect structural steel frames, beams, columns, and associated components
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings and site plans
- Work collaboratively with site supervisors, crane operators, and fabrication teams
- Install bolted connections, bracing, and secondary steelwork
- Operate lifting equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely
- Maintain high standards of site safety and housekeeping
- Adapt to changing project requirements and assist with on site problem solving
Requirements
- Proven experience as a steel erector on commercial or industrial projects
- Strong understanding of structural steel installation and site safety
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings
- CSCS card required; IPAF, CPCS, or slinger/signaller qualifications advantageous
- Comfortable working at height and in varying weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively within a team
- Full UK driving licence
- Own transport essential
- Ability to weld would be advantageous
