Key responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as a key point of contact and building strong working relationships.
- Preparing statutory and management accounts for a range of businesses.
- Preparing and reviewing corporation tax and personal tax returns.
- Supporting clients with day-to-day accounting queries and providing practical financial guidance.
- Assisting with VAT returns and other compliance requirements.
- Reviewing accounts and tax work prepared by junior members of the team, where appropriate.
- Liaising directly with clients to obtain information, resolve queries and ensure deadlines are met.
- Supporting Partners and senior colleagues with more complex accounting and tax matters.
- Identifying opportunities to provide additional support and value to clients.
- Assisting with the development and mentoring of more junior members of the team.
Qualifications
- Several years' experience within a UK accountancy practice.
- Strong experience in accounts preparation, including statutory accounts.
- Good knowledge of corporation and personal taxation.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- A proactive and commercially minded approach.
- A recognised accountancy qualification such as ACA or ACCA, or be qualified by relevant experience.
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Quick Books or similar would be advantageous.
