Overview
The HGV Class 2 Driver position based in Manchester involves home delivery of kitchen items from Trafford Park, working as part of a two-person crew.
This full-time contract role pays £16.75 per hour, equating to £41,808 annually based on a 48-hour week, with a potential quarterly bonus of up to £750.
Responsibilities
- Drive and deliver kitchen items as part of a two-person crew, ensuring deliveries are placed in the customer’s room of choice and made within the specified time windows.
- Scan all products at delivery and record deliveries.
- Support the porter with customer calls to provide estimated times of arrival (ETA).
- Report any parking issues to delivery support or the transport office, with a record to avoid tickets.
- Maintain good timekeeping; start times typically between 4am and 6am (own transport required).
- Unloading occurs at the delivery point; vehicles are loaded overnight and ready for the morning.
- Adhere to health and safety requirements and the company’s policies (attendance, scanning, and safety).
- There are seven cameras on the vehicles (five around and two in the back); be aware of training and work accordingly.
- Maximum of six points on licence.
Qualifications / Requirements
- DBS REQUIRED
- Shifts can be up to 12 hours long; average hours equate to a 48-hour week.
- Start times: 4am to 6am (own transport required).
- At peak, flexibility to cover business needs and changes to working patterns may be required.
