The Management Accountant position in Hazel Grove is a permanent role with RK Accountancy, supporting a growing engineering firm. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will deliver precise and timely management information. You will assist with accurate financial reporting while contributing to system improvements, controls, and overall financial performance. In a full‑time role, you will support accurate and timely delivery of management information, and the organisation offers a competitive salary.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the timely and accurate accounts processing across four companies within the group
- Ensure the accuracy of trial balances for monthly management accounts
- Reconcile key sections of the trial balance to supporting documentation (e.g., payroll, PAYE, accruals, prepayments)
- Work with Sales and Purchase ledger clerks to keep sales and purchase ledgers up to date
- Assist the Financial Controller with preparation of management accounts, financial analysis and reporting
- Contribute to strong financial controls while developing technical and professional skills over time
- Ensure correct CIS treatment and Domestic Reverse Charge VAT for sales and purchases where applicable
- Maintain accurate general bookkeeping, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain good credit control practices and flag any collection issues
- Carry out ad‑hoc finance tasks and analysis as required
- Support month‑end and year‑end close processes
- Assist with the annual audit, responding to auditor queries and gathering supporting documentation and evidence
- Work closely with other departments to gather and validate financial information
