Maintenance Electrician (Surrey & Merton)

The Maintenance Electrician position in Surrey requires a skilled professional to deliver electrical services across commercial contracts, including civic buildings, Wimbledon Tennis Club, libraries, community centres, fire stations, schools, and offices.

This temporary role offers a salary of £43,000 to £46,000 per annum and is based on a van‑mobile basis covering Surrey and Merton.

My Client are a mechanical engineering who have been in operation for over 50 years providing mechanical engineering solutions to their diverse portfolio of clients.

X 2 Commercial Maintenance Electricians – Surrey and Merton Cover.

Contracts include: Civic Buildings, Wimbledon Tennis Club, Libraries, Community Centres, Fire Stations, Schools and Offices.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults and breakdowns.
  • Install, test, and commission electrical equipment and systems.
  • Ensure electrical systems comply with UK regulations (e. g. BS7671 – IET Wiring Regulations).
  • Respond to emergency call‑outs and unplanned maintenance issues.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level2 and3 Electrotechnical discipline.
  • JIB Gold Card (AM2 or AM2E equivalency pass).
  • Test and Inspect Qualification – 18th Edition.
  • Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience.
  • Live within a reasonable distance of Merton District / South London / Surrey East.

Package & Benefits

  • £40k–46k per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications held.
  • 40‑hour week, Monday to Friday. Travel time paid after 30 minutes each way.
  • Fully expensed company van, fuel card and expenses.
  • Call‑out rota: 1 in 7 weeks with a £200 retainer.
  • Pension, 20 days holiday and plenty of overtime available.
