Job Overview
This permanent position is based in Leeds, offering a salary between £28,000 and £32,000, plus pension and professional fees. As a Graduate Engineering Geologist, you will join a consultancy delivering geotechnical solutions across rail and construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Ground modelling, geotechnical design, and risk assessment.
- Prepare desk studies and interpretive reports, working closely with other engineering departments.
- Support development in earthworks, drilling, grouting, contaminated land legislation, and design standards.
- Assist with project management duties, helping to manage programme, budget control, and supervision or coordination of ground investigation works.
- Prepare fee proposals, tenders, and technical submissions.
Qualifications
- Appropriate degree in Geology or a similar field.
- MSc in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering is desirable.
- One to three years' experience with geology, ground investigation methods, and geotechnical engineering principles.
- Experience working on rail or construction sector projects, including earthworks inspections and reporting.
- Experience producing geotechnical reports such as Geotechnical Interpretative Reports and Mining Risk Assessments.
- Experience in ground investigation planning, specification, and supervision.
- Experience in specification and design of earthworks and geotechnical solutions.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong desire to work towards becoming chartered; training support will be provided.
