Due to a drive for greater success, this advanced manufacturing business is currently searching for a Fabricator - Plater to add to their talented, hardworking team in Govan on a 12 month contract. Striving for innovation and creativity, you can ensure no two days will be the same.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assembling of ship structures, shell, decks, bulkheads, frames, and longitudinals.
  • Fabrication of ship items - seats, ladders, false flooring, and panels.
  • Outfitting ship items, fitting of hatches, watertight doors, equipment seats, and false flooring.
  • Forming material using machine tools - rolling, flanging, and cutting machines (guillotine, cropper, and mechanical saw).
  • Preparing ship for launch and ship sea trials, manufacture of launch slipway, shores, batons, etc.
  • Ship docking, plate preparation, using different methods (oxy-fuel gas cutting and hand grinding), pressure testing, drilling, and lock fitting.
  • Understanding of fabrication and installation drawings.
  • Hand skills required for assembly and fabrication purposes.
  • Clear understanding of SHE risk awareness.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes.

*Evidence of qualifications to NVQ level 3 or equivalent must be provided at application stage.
