About The Role

  • You'll work on a wide variety of residential construction projects including:
  • High-end home renovations
  • Extensions
  • Loft and garage conversions
  • Luxury kitchen installations
  • Bathroom refurbishments
  • Bespoke new-build developments
  • Design and build projects

Key Duties

As part of the commercial team you will

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions
  • Measure drawings and produce Bills of Quantities
  • Carry out digital take-offs from architectural and structural drawings
  • Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Produce project budgets and cost plans
  • Monitor project costs and profitability
  • Price variations and additional works throughout live projects
  • Assist with procurement of subcontractors and materials
  • Prepare interim valuations and final accounts
  • Develop estimating systems, templates and cost databases
  • Client & Design Responsibilities

You will also play an important client-facing role by

  • Meeting clients to discuss their projects and aspirations
  • Consulting with customers to understand their specification, budget and priorities
  • Working alongside our designers and project managers to develop practical, cost-effective solutions
  • Presenting quotations and commercial proposals to clients
  • Explaining build costs and alternative options where appropriate
  • Managing specification changes and client variations throughout the project
  • Assisting clients with selecting construction finishes, kitchens and bathrooms where required
  • Supporting projects from initial enquiry through to contract award and construction
  • Candidate Requirements
  • Quantity Surveying or estimating experience within residential construction
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Confidence dealing directly with clients
  • Experience pricing extensions, renovations or new-build housing
  • The ability to read architectural and structural drawings
  • Strong Excel and computer skills
  • A proactive and organised approach
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Experience within kitchens, bathrooms or luxury residential construction would be a significant advantage but is not essential
