12 Month Contract Outside IR35 UK Wide - Hybrid / Site Based

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage delivery of high-voltage substation and transmission projects from start to finish.
  • Coordinate engineering, construction, procurement, and commissioning teams.
  • Act as main contact for clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Track programme, costs, risks, and changes.
  • Support planning, reporting, and project execution activities.
  • Oversee subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Support design reviews and construction planning.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
  • Support project close-out and handover.

SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Engineering or similar field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7 years' experience in transmission, utilities, or power infrastructure.
  • Experience delivering HV substation or EPC projects.
  • Strong understanding of UK power networks and substations.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, and project delivery.
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and site safety requirements.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Willing to travel across the UK.

DESIRABLE:

  • Experience with National Grid or UK DNO projects.
  • Experience at 132kV-400kV level.
  • NEC contract awareness.
  • Professional membership (APM, IET, ICE) preferred.
