Overview
The Yard Operative position in Exeter is a full‑time role offering £12.71 per hour.
Working Monday to Thursday from 8:00am to 4:30pm and finishing at 3:30pm on Friday, this hands‑on post involves loading and unloading equipment safely.
You will inspect items to confirm they meet quality standards before dispatch and upon return, ensuring everything is prepared correctly for customers across the region.
Based at the depot, this outdoor role requires someone who enjoys staying active and takes pride in thorough work.
Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspecting equipment to ensure it meets quality standards before dispatch and on return.
- Checking delivery and collection paperwork is accurate and complete.
- Maintaining a tidy, organised and safe yard at all times.
- Working closely with the depot team to keep stock levels accurate.
- Assisting with regular stock takes and reporting any discrepancies.
- Delivering excellent customer service when dealing with drivers and visitors.
- Following all Health & Safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in a yard, warehouse, production or industrial environment (preferred but not essential).
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- A strong awareness of health and safety.
- Good attention to detail.
- The ability to work well as part of a close‑knit team.
- A reliable and hardworking approach.
