The Senior Project Manager will lead high-value capital programmes from inception through to completion, operating from our Exeter base.

This permanent position offers a salary between £70,000 and £80,000, supplemented by an excellent benefits package.

Suitable candidates will possess a strong background within a main contractor or tier-one environment, having since progressed into consultancy or client-side leadership.

You will take ownership of complex infrastructure schemes, guiding strategic direction while managing pre-construction phases.

Proven ability to direct high-performing teams and deliver significant investment portfolios is essential.

Our client is delivering one of the region's most ambitious capital investment programmes and is seeking an exceptional Senior Project Manager to take ownership of complex, high-value projects and strategic programmes.

This opportunity is particularly suited to an individual who has built their expertise within a main contractor or tier-one contracting environment before moving into consultancy, programme management or client-side leadership roles.

Significant pre-construction capability is considered a major advantage.

The Role

You'll lead the delivery of major capital projects and programmes, providing strategic direction, commercial leadership and stakeholder management at the highest levels.

Working across multidisciplinary teams and supply chain partners, you'll be accountable for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with demanding regulatory and organisational objectives.

  • Significant experience delivering major infrastructure, utilities or engineering programmes.
  • Extensive pre-construction expertise including business cases, design development, procurement and delivery strategy.
  • Advanced NEC contract management and commercial leadership experience.
  • Demonstrable success managing complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong leadership capability with experience developing and mentoring project teams.
  • Experience presenting to senior executives, governance boards and client leadership teams.
  • Ability to influence investment and delivery decisions.
  • A highly driven, resilient and tenacious character who thrives in challenging environments.
  • Background within contractor, consultancy or client-side capital delivery organisations.
