Responsibilities
- Supporting Chef/Catering Manager and kitchen teams
- Assisting with the preparation and service of hot and cold food items
- Assisting with food service for children, liaising with teachers and care workers
- Operating tills and handling payments where required
- Clearing down and closing units at the end of shifts
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Following food safety and food allergen legislation at all times
- Ensuring food service areas remain clean, organised and well‑stocked
- Working closely with all school staff to deliver an efficient service
- Must‑have Qualifications
- Previous experience working as a Catering Assistant – experience in education is advantageous
- Food Safety and Food Allergen qualifications, or willingness to complete them
- Possession of an Enhanced DBS with child‑barring consent or willingness to obtain one
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively in fast‑paced catering environments
