Overview

The Senior Architectural Technician position in Birmingham offers a salary between £45,000 and £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, on a full-time, permanent basis.

The role involves acting as a technical advisor for public sector and Ministry of Justice projects, with a focus on technical governance, compliance, and client liaison.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical briefs, tender documentation, and performance specifications.
  • Review contractor proposals and technical design information.
  • Produce concept and tender stage drawing packages where required.
  • Undertake site visits and inspections across the South East.
  • Act as the technical representative for the client throughout project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, British Standards, and technical performance criteria.
  • Manage relationships with contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders.
  • Lead technical discussions and resolve design and construction queries.

Requirements

  • Qualified Architectural Technologist, Architectural Technician, or Technical Architect.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction.
  • Experience preparing technical drawing packages and specifications.
  • Confident client-facing with excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to challenge technical proposals and make informed decisions.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across the South East.
  • Revit and/or Auto CAD experience.

Notes: This is a contract role with a well-established practice, focusing on long-term projects, including work with public sector and Ministry of Justice projects.
