Join a world-renowned aerospace and defence organisation as an Electrician in Barrow full time onsite. Would you like to join a global aerospace and defence organisation? Do you want to work as part of an organisation protecting people and maintaining maximum national security? Due to a drive for greater success, this advanced manufacturing business is currently searching for an Electrician to add to their talented, hardworking team in Rochester on a 12 month contract. Striving for innovation and creativity you can ensure no two days will be the same.

Rate: £26.89 per hour inside / Umbrella

The role:

  • Banding and clipping including selection of the correct banding for the type of banding to be used - Awareness of bend radii of cables - Ability to run in cables neatly using pull sheets and correct EMC segregation
  • Manufacture and install cable runs - Mounting equipment using mounts and required shock clearances
  • Connect junction boxes (normal - less than 10 cables and/or up to 40 Generics) - Terminations of large panels with multicore cables
  • Connect minor electrical equipment (lights/sockets/internal comms)
  • In-line crimping using procedures and filling in crimp record card - Correct selection and use of crimping tools and associated document
  • Fibre optics
  • Installation of Schott harnesses
  • Various Connectors - First Level Connectors - RJ45
  • Basic testing - continuity (line checking) testing for dead as required by rip-out process

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Safety certification i.e. SHE induction, COSHH awareness, working at height etc.
  • Modern Apprenticeship Trade papers
  • Completed a 'time served' full Engineering Modern Apprenticeship which has been formally certificated by a national Awarding Organisation and must include a Further Education component and a Competence component. These would normally be issued by City & Guilds, NVQ/SVQ, BTEC, IMI, Edexcel, EAL or predecessor bodies (ITB, EITB, EnTra), SEMTA, ATA, although this list is not exhaustive.
