Pertemps Edinburgh Contracts seeks a Customer Contact Adviser to join a public sector team in Edinburgh. This full-time, temporary role is based in the city centre, paying £14.51 per hour, and runs until February 2027.

You will serve as the first point of contact for social work referrals, managing incoming calls and emails from both the public and professionals. Your duties involve accurately logging details and ensuring each referral reaches the correct person promptly.

Working 36 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, between 08:30 and 19:00 on a shift rota, you will join an established group. Strong communication, attentive listening, and precise data entry are essential for this busy contact centre position.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for social work referrals
  • Handling incoming calls from professionals and members of the public
  • Listening carefully and accurately interpreting the information provided
  • Writing clear, concise case notes and updating systems
  • Processing email referrals between calls
  • Liaising with Social Work professionals and internal advisors for guidance
  • Working both independently and as part of a supportive team
  • Any other tasks as required

You should:

  • Be a good listener
  • Have excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally
  • Have strong IT skills and be able to learn new systems
  • Have previous customer service experience
  • Be a team player
