Project Engineer - Electrical & Instrumentation
Location: Scottish Borders, Cumbria & West Yorkshire
We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer (E&I) with a background in gas distribution, utilities, or major infrastructure projects to support the delivery of electrical and instrumentation projects from concept through to commissioning and handover.
Essential Skills & Experience
- COMPEX Ex01-04 certification.
- Time-served Electrician or Electrical Technician.
- EL6 authorised, Authorised Person (AP), or equivalent electrical authorisation.
- Experience delivering projects through the full lifecycle, including design, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Strong background in gas infrastructure, utilities, or other safety-critical environments.
- Knowledge of hazardous area installations (ATEX/DSEAR), permit-to-work systems, and electrical safety procedures.
- Experience with LV/HV electrical systems, switchgear, PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Ability to manage contractors, review technical documentation, and ensure compliance with CDM and health & safety regulations.
