We are recruiting for a General Operative/ Machine Operator for our client, a manufacturing company in Kingswinford on a permanent afternoon shift.
This is a hands‑on production role suited to someone with previous experience working in a manufacturing, production or machine‑operating environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating machinery, handling materials, carrying out quality checks and ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high standards of health and safety.
Job Duties
- Operate manufacturing machinery safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures.
- Set up and monitor machinery during the production process.
- Load raw materials and components into machinery and production equipment.
- Monitor production output and ensure products are manufactured to the required specification.
- Carry out regular quality checks and visual inspections to identify defects or damaged products.
- Measure and check finished products for accuracy and quality.
- Complete general assembly and production tasks as required.
- Follow production instructions, work procedures and health and safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and organised workstation and production area.
- Handle materials and finished products safely throughout the manufacturing process.
- Pack, label and prepare completed products for storage or dispatch.
- Work to daily production targets while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Report machinery faults, product defects or production issues to the supervisor.
- Work effectively as part of a production team while also being able to complete tasks independently.
- Follow all PPE, manual handling and workplace safety requirements.
- Carry out other general operative and production duties as required by the business.
