Overview

Teach South is seeking a Dance Teacher for a secondary school in Rye.

This part-time contract role begins September 2026, offering a salary on the MPS1–UPS3 scale.

You will deliver practical dance lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering creativity, performance skills, and student confidence within a supportive Performing Arts department.

The school is well-resourced and welcomes applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

This position requires an individual who can inspire pupils through movement and artistic expression.

The Role

  • Teach Dance across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Deliver engaging practical lessons that encourage creativity, teamwork and self-expression.
  • Plan and assess lessons that support students of all abilities to achieve their potential.
  • Contribute to school performances, showcases and extracurricular activities where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote a vibrant Performing Arts curriculum.

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Dance in a secondary school setting.
  • A passion for inspiring young people through the performing arts.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning.
  • Applications from ECTs are warmly welcomed.
