Position

SEMH Teaching Assistant – SEN School.

Full-time contract.

Start: September 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in classroom and through targeted interventions.
  • Build positive relationships that help students develop confidence, resilience and independence.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and adapting learning to meet individual needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing using consistent support strategies.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, therapists and pastoral teams to ensure pupils receive the best possible support.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience supporting children or young people is desirable, but not essential.
  • Calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting pupils.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Genuine interest in working within a specialist SEN environment.
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
