Corporate Tax Senior / Assistant Manager

The Corporate Tax Senior / Assistant Manager position in London offers a salary between £40,000 and £55,000 per annum.

Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well-established Chartered Accountancy practice based in South West London, which is looking to recruit a Corporate Tax Senior or an Assistant Manager to join its growing tax team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious tax professional looking to develop their career within a supportive practice environment, working with a varied portfolio of corporate clients and gaining exposure to both compliance and advisory work.

The Role

Working closely with the wider tax and accounts teams, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of corporate tax clients and play an important role in delivering a high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients, ensuring all compliance requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and returns for a range of companies.
  • Providing clients with corporate tax advice and support, identifying opportunities for tax planning where appropriate.
  • Assisting with more complex tax matters and responding to ad hoc client queries.
  • Liaising directly with clients, building strong and trusted relationships and providing a proactive service.
  • Working closely with the accounts team to ensure tax compliance work is completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Reviewing work prepared by more junior members of the team, where appropriate.
  • Supporting the development and mentoring of junior colleagues.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and HMRC requirements.
  • Contributing to the continued growth and development of the firm's corporate tax offering.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience in corporate tax, at Senior or Assistant Manager level.
  • A relevant professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CTA, or be working towards qualification.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK corporation tax.
  • Experience preparing and/or reviewing corporation tax computations and returns.
  • Good client-facing and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commercial approach to client service.
  • The confidence to work independently while also contributing effectively to a wider team.
  • A desire to progress and develop within a growing practice environment.
