Overview
As a Warehouse Goods In operative based in Corby, you will take responsibility for receiving and storing incoming stock.
This full-time, temp-to-perm position pays £14.72 per hour (circa £31K) and follows a Monday-to-Friday pattern from 9am to 6pm.
Your core duties involve unloading deliveries, cross-checking items against paperwork, and inspecting products for damage or quality concerns.
You will place goods into correct storage locations and ensure all movements are precisely recorded on the Warehouse Management System.
Accurate data entry and careful attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to handle physical tasks throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Unloading deliveries and checking goods against delivery documentation.
- Assisting in the inspection of incoming stock for accuracy, damages, and quality issues.
- Placing products into designated warehouse storage locations.
- Ensuring all stock movements and inventory transactions are accurately recorded on the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Maintaining accurate stock records and assisting in investigating any discrepancies.
- Keeping warehouse space organized efficiently and safely.
- Following storage procedures in line with company standards.
- Completing work accurately and efficiently; maintaining compliance with health and safety procedures and warehouse operating standards.
- Carrying out stock counts, audits, and inventory checks as required.
- Liaising with internal departments, suppliers, and transport providers regarding deliveries and stock issues.
- Supporting continuous improvement processes and operational efficiency across the site.
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Good understanding of warehouse procedures and inventory control.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to supervise and motivate a team.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to operate forklift truck and VNA.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements within a warehouse environment.
