This temporary Class 1 Driver role in Burton upon Trent runs from 9 November 2026 until Christmas Eve, with a minimum six-week commitment. Daily rates range from £210 to £250, depending on the shift worked. Drivers choose day, afternoon or night shifts, five or six days weekly, or ad hoc bookings. Duties involve straightforward trunking and bay-to-bay deliveries, with no handball required and no driving assessment. Applicants need a valid Class 1 licence and proven driving experience. Successful candidates will hold strong road safety awareness, reliable timekeeping and the ability to work independently across varied schedules. As a Class 1 Driver, you’ll take on straightforward trunking and bay-to-bay work with no handball, flexible shift choices and excellent daily rates. This is a minimum six-week assignment starting 9 November 2026 and running up to Christmas Eve, with days, nights and weekend work available. You can choose to work five or six days per week or pick up ad hoc shifts to suit your availability.

Your responsibilities as Class 1 Driver

  • - Complete trunking work across the depot and hub network
  • - Carry out bay-to-bay deliveries efficiently and safely
  • - Start and finish allocated work from the Burton depot
  • - Complete required vehicle and journey checks
  • - Follow drivers’ hours, tachograph and road transport regulations
  • - Ensure loads and associated documentation are handled correctly throughout each journey

What we’re looking for in a Class 1 Driver

  • - Valid Category C+E driving licence (Class 1 licence)
  • - At least 90 days of recent relevant driving completed
  • - Valid Driver CPC qualification
  • - Current digital tachograph card
  • - Good understanding of drivers’ hours and road transport regulations

Working hours

Day shifts start between 04:00 and 15:59, while night shifts start between 16:00 and 03:59. Day, afternoon and night work is available, with the option to work five or six days per week or ad hoc shifts.
