The Mand E Contract Manager West Brompton position, based in City Of London, carries a permanent salary between £67,000 and £70,000 per annum.

This fully site-based role runs Monday to Friday, with 25 days of holiday.

You will oversee daily delivery of a substantial mixed-use development contract, managing roughly ten engineers, supervisors, and support staff.

Acting as the primary liaison between client and site personnel, you will report to Operations Management and take complete ownership of service performance.

Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems is essential, alongside proven leadership within facilities maintenance.

Prior experience handling multi-unit residential sites will serve you well here.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Contract Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day management and successful delivery of a large, fully site-based facilities and maintenance contract in West Brompton, which is a large mixed use development with over 300 units.

This is a hands-on management position, overseeing an on-site team of around 10 engineers and support staff, while acting as the key point of contact between the client, site team, contractors, and wider support functions.

The successful candidate will ensure that all planned, reactive and remedial works are delivered safely, efficiently, within programme and to a high standard, while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring contractual requirements and KPIs are consistently achieved.

  • Contract and Operational Management - Manage the day-to-day delivery and performance of the contract.
  • - Ensure PPM, reactive and remedial works meet agreed KPIs and timescales.
  • - Provide technical support, resolve site issues and ensure records are kept up to date.
  • - Ensure all works meet company, client and Health and Safety standards.
  • Team Management - Lead and manage an on-site team of approximately 10 engineers and support staff.
  • - Monitor performance, training, resources and development.
  • - Maintain a professional, accountable and high-performing team.
  • Client and Contractor Management - Act as the main point of contact for the client and key stakeholders.
  • - Manage client expectations and maintain strong relationships.
  • - Oversee contractors and ensure work is completed to the required standard.
  • - Manage issues, complaints and escalations effectively.
  • Commercial Management - Manage contract costs, profitability and performance.
  • - Identify opportunities for additional works and improved efficiency.
  • - Drive First Time Fix, minimise repeat visits and control wastage.
  • Compliance and Hand S - Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • - Maintain accurate compliance and audit records.

About You

We are looking for a confident and experienced Contract Manager who is comfortable taking ownership of a busy, complex site and leading a team of engineers. You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience in contract or facilities management, ideally within a building services or hard FM environment.
  • Experience managing and developing an engineering team.
  • Strong technical knowledge and the ability to support engineers with fault finding and problem solving.
  • Excellent client and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of contract profitability.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good IT and computer literacy.
  • Relevant technical or professional qualifications.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to identify problems and drive solutions.
  • The confidence to manage client expectations and take ownership of contract
