Fire Alarm Estimator / Designer – London - £55,000 I am currently representing a Fire and Security specialist company that delivers design, installation and maintenance services across major construction-led projects throughout England.

Due to continued growth and a newly secured long-term project, they are seeking a Fire Alarm Estimator / Designer to join their team.

This role will be heavily focused on a major upcoming scheme, with involvement expected across the full project lifecycle of approximately three years.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the design element, working closely with BIM partners on 3D modelling, coordinating with contractors and supporting the site team to ensure designs are delivered accurately and in line with project requirements.

The position would suit someone with strong large-scale fire alarm project experience from a construction background, who is confident producing designs, reviewing technical information and supporting delivery from pre-construction through to completion.

During quieter periods between key milestones, the successful candidate will support the wider department workload, before moving on to further projects within the business once this scheme is complete.

  • Leading the design and estimating support for large-scale fire alarm projects, with a strong focus on a secured long-term construction scheme and wider project delivery requirements.
  • Producing detailed fire alarm designs for major construction projects, ensuring technical accuracy from early design stages through to project completion.
  • Working closely with BIM partners to support 3D modelling, design coordination and drawing development.
  • Coordinating with contractors, project managers, engineers and the site team to ensure designs are practical, compliant and deliverable.
  • Reviewing specifications, drawings, site information and tender documentation to prepare accurate technical and commercial submissions.
  • Supporting key project milestones across the full lifecycle, including design development, coordination, handover and ongoing project support.
  • Using Auto CAD and Bluebeam where required to review, mark up and develop project drawings and technical documentation.
  • Supporting the wider department workload during quieter periods between major project milestones.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years’ experience working on large-scale fire alarm projects.
  • Strong design experience within fire alarm systems, ideally with involvement across major project lifecycles.
  • Construction project background is essential; candidates from a facilities management background will not be suitable for this position.
  • Experience coordinating with contractors, BIM teams, consultants and site teams on technical design matters.
  • Auto CAD and Bluebeam experience would be advantageous.
  • Must be commutable to London and comfortable with a hybrid split between home, office and London sites; this is not a fully remote role.
