Energy Advisor – Cheltenham (Permanent)
Salary: £26,000 – £26,500 per annum (pro rata for part‑time). Full‑time and part‑time schedules (minimum three full days per week) are available.
Location & Travel
The role is based in Cheltenham. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one advice and support to households on energy issues.
- Advocate with energy suppliers to resolve problems and secure positive outcomes.
- Help clients access grants, funding and support schemes.
- Build relationships with local organisations and referral partners.
- Deliver talks, outreach sessions and attend community events.
- Maintain accurate records and case notes.
- Ensure services are delivered safely, professionally and in line with safeguarding requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience supporting vulnerable individuals or communities.
- Strong problem‑solving and relationship‑building skills.
- Independent worker who can manage own workload.
- Excellent communication and record‑keeping skills.
- Empathetic, organised and confident communicator.
- Prior experience in community work, advice services, housing, support work, welfare, customer advocacy or the charity sector.
- Knowledge of energy, housing or community support services is advantageous but not essential.
Other Requirements
- Must live in the Cheltenham area.
- A full UK driving licence and vehicle access are essential.
