The Role
We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to join an analytical team, supporting the delivery of an efficient and high-quality analytical service. This is an agency-based position, working in line with strict safety, quality, and environmental standards.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting laboratory operations, ensuring analytical results are delivered to time and quality expectations while maintaining compliance with all relevant procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of assigned programmes of work to support timely and accurate analytical results
- Work in compliance with laboratory quality management systems to support accreditation
- Follow processes and procedures to ensure safe working practices at all times
- Support the analytical team to deliver a consistent and efficient service
- Assist with the waste management of samples and consumables
- Carry out routine laboratory cleaning and maintenance activities
- Take responsibility for personal development and ongoing learning
- Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures
- Promote efficient operational practices to minimise financial and material waste
Essential Experience & Skills
- Science GCSEs at grades A-C (or equivalent)
- Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- Awareness of conventional and radiological safety
- IT literate
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Desirable
- Previous experience in an analytical chemistry or laboratory environment
