Overview
The Legal Administrator position in Cardiff offers a temporary 3‑month contract with daily pay of £110.00–£115.00 plus holiday pay.
The role requires working four days in the office and one day from home.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative assistance to the legal team, managing correspondence and maintaining accurate records.
Coordinate meetings, book venues, prepare agendas and relevant background materials.
Draft and review routine, non‑technical correspondence; sign where authorised.
Manage diaries and schedule tentative appointments without prior supervisory clearance.
Attend meetings, take accurate minutes, and prepare reports summarising discussions, actions and decisions.
Review outgoing correspondence and documents for consistency, accuracy, compliance and necessary approvals.
Collect, compile and retrieve information from legal files and case‑management systems to respond to routine enquiries and prepare periodic reports.
Maintain legal files and confidential documentation in accordance with legal, regulatory and organisational requirements.
Assist legal professionals with document preparation, case administration and management of legal records.
Support continuous improvement of administrative processes and contribute to the effective operation of the legal department.
Carry out any other duties commensurate with the level of the post as reasonably required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Experience providing administrative support within a corporate environment.
Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritise competing workloads and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, Excel and Teams.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients and external stakeholders.
