The Caretaker position in Cannock involves maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. This full-time role operates Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, with a starting salary of £12.71 per hour, potentially increasing based on skill set.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs around the school
- Liaise with contractors
- Sweep and keep outdoor areas clean and tidy
- Ensure the school grounds are well presented
- Complete paint touch-ups and basic decorating when required
- Put up notice boards, displays, shelving, and other fixtures when needed
- Open and secure the school gates at the appropriate times, ensuring they are locked once pupils have entered the school and again after the school day ends
- Report any maintenance issues or health and safety concerns
- Support the school with other caretaking and maintenance duties
