Senior Civil Engineer – Cambridge
Full‑time role based in Cambridge, offering a salary between £50,000 and £60,000 per annum.
The position involves delivering a varied portfolio of projects across residential, education, commercial, defence, healthcare, and public sector sectors for a multidisciplinary consultancy.
Responsibilities include managing project delivery from concept to completion and providing technical expertise in drainage and highway design.
The role also requires mentoring junior engineers and supporting the team’s growth in a collaborative culture with clear progression routes.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce highways and drainage designs for development infrastructure projects.
- Design Section 38, Section 278, and Section 104 schemes.
- Prepare Su DS and drainage strategies.
- Manage projects from feasibility through detailed design and construction support.
- Liaise directly with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Support fee proposals and assist with project financial management.
- Mentor Graduate and Civil Engineers.
- Work closely with structural engineers, architects, and other multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years’ UK civil engineering consultancy experience.
- Strong highways and drainage design experience.
- Experience delivering development infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D and drainage software such as Info Drainage or Micro Drainage.
- Working toward Chartership or already Chartered.
- Strong communication and client‑facing skills.
