Overview
The Mobile Plant Supervisor will be based in Bristol and will oversee multiple ready‑mix concrete plants across the South West. This permanent role offers a salary of £38,000 to £38,500 per annum for a 48‑hour working week, with time and a half paid for any hours beyond that. A company van is provided for business travel.
Responsibilities
- Operate computerised batching systems to produce ready‑mix concrete to customer specifications.
- Support Production Managers with the day‑to‑day running of multiple concrete plants.
- Carry out daily inspections of safety‑critical equipment.
- Operate loading shovels to replenish aggregate stock.
- Monitor stock levels and order raw materials when required.
- Manage the safe movement of mixer, tipper and cement tanker vehicles on site.
- Supervise contractors and ensure work is completed safely.
- Complete environmental compliance checks and maintain accurate records.
- Drive high standards of housekeeping and carry out routine preventive maintenance.
- Coach and support operational teams, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Promote a positive health, safety and environmental culture across all sites.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working within a concrete plant, quarry, manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- Good mechanical and/or electrical understanding of plant machinery.
- Proactive, hands‑on approach with strong problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Flexibility to travel across multiple sites within the South West.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
