A full-time HGV Class 2 Driver Loader position is available in Bristol, offering £17.27 per hour.

This role combines driving a Class 2 vehicle with physical loading duties for waste and recycling collections across the city.

Working Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm (39 hours weekly).

Overtime is paid at 1.5x after 39 hours and on Saturdays, with double time on Sundays and bank holidays.

Overview

This is a physically active role combining HGV driving with loading duties.

You\'ll be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 vehicle while working as part of a team to collect, transport and unload waste and recycling materials across the Bristol area.

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive and operate HGV Class 2 vehicles in line with legal requirements and company procedures.
  • Collect, load, transport and unload waste and recycling materials.
  • Complete daily vehicle safety checks and report defects promptly.
  • Tip vehicles at approved recycling and waste facilities.
  • Accurately complete paperwork and electronic records using handheld devices.
  • Maintain high standards of vehicle cleanliness and presentation.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and communicate professionally with colleagues, customers and the public.
  • Work flexibly across different operational locations when required.
  • Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures.
  • Participate in a hands-on outdoor role involving lifting, moving bins and recycling containers, in all weather conditions.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
  • Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Good understanding of HGV driving regulations, Working Time Directive and tachograph rules
  • Experience completing daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
  • Comfortable using mobile devices and completing electronic paperwork
  • Reliable, safety-conscious and a strong team player
  • Previous waste, recycling or commercial collections experience is desirable but not essential
