We are currently working with a leading international engineering and construction organisation that is expanding its team in Germany and is looking to appoint an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a major data centre project, taking a senior technical role and working alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver complex electrical systems from design through to installation and commissioning.
You will take responsibility for coordinating electrical engineering activities, supporting the wider project team and ensuring that technical requirements are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
The Role
- Lead and coordinate electrical engineering activities across the project.
- Provide technical leadership and engineering support to project and construction teams.
- Review electrical designs, drawings, calculations and technical documentation.
- Identify and resolve technical issues, design gaps and coordination challenges.
- Coordinate electrical engineering requirements with other disciplines.
- Manage technical queries and support the resolution of engineering issues.
- Review technical submissions and support the approval process.
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants and other project stakeholders.
- Support the procurement and delivery of electrical equipment and materials.
- Monitor engineering progress against project programmes and key milestones.
- Work closely with construction teams to ensure electrical installations are delivered in accordance with approved designs and specifications.
- Provide technical support during installation and construction activities.
- Support testing, commissioning and final handover of electrical systems.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant standards, specifications and project requirements.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and technical delivery throughout the project.
About You
We are looking for an experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in data centres or other large-scale, technically complex construction projects. You will ideally have:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in electrical engineering within large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and engineering principles.
- Experience working with LV and MV electrical systems.
- Experience reviewing electrical designs, drawings and calculations.
- Experience supporting projects through design, construction and commissioning phases.
- Experience working with contractors, consultants, suppliers and client teams.
- Strong technical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- The ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and drive technical issues through to resolution.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
- Previous experience delivering data centre projects is highly desirable, although candidates from other complex construction environments may also be considered.
