The Community Coordinator (Part Time) based in Berkeley facilitates engagement, coordinates activities, and strengthens community‑led projects in rural communities.

The role involves building partnerships with residents, community groups, organisations, businesses, and public sector bodies, and supporting projects from idea to action.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate engagement and community events.
  • Coordinate activities and build confidence, skills, and structures needed for community‑led projects.
  • Build and maintain relationships with residents, groups, local organisations, businesses and public sector partners.
  • Support project delivery and communicate progress to a wide range of audiences.
  • Travel within rural communities and occasionally work evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

  • Experience in community engagement, development, stakeholder management or project coordination.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with diverse people and organisations.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confidence to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Good IT and reporting skills.
  • Willingness to travel within rural communities; access to a UK driving licence and vehicle.
  • Additional Experience
  • Experience of community‑led projects, co‑production or participatory approaches.
  • Knowledge of rural development, sustainability or regeneration initiatives.
  • Fundraising experience.
