We are recruiting experienced Steelworkers (Platers/Shipwrights) to join a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation working on large-scale, complex projects in a highly regulated environment.

The Role

You'll be involved in the fabrication, assembly, installation, and manufacture of steel structures and components, working from engineering drawings to deliver high-quality products while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, assemble, and install structural steel components.
  • Carry out marking out, plate preparation, burning, drilling, grinding, and fitting activities.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Operate a range of fabrication tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure work meets required standards.
  • Work collaboratively to deliver projects safely, on time, and to specification.

About You

  • Time-served Steelworker, Plater, Shipwright, or equivalent engineering trade.
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in steel fabrication, structural assembly, and heavy engineering.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience with plate forming, burning, alignment, fitting, and structural assembly is desirable.
  • Confident working within a safety-critical, quality-driven manufacturing environment.
  • Strong team player with excellent attention to detail and commitment to health and safety.
